A closer look- the subtle beauty

Malta is going through rapid change, arguably for the worst in many ways. Yet amidst the chaos, confusion and clutter still lies true mediterranean essence.

For the last 12 months, I embarked on a personal photo project with the intention to capture all the subtle beauty that surrounds us. It's made me fall in love with our special islands once again and truly appreciate them for what they are.  The project started from a daily practice that evolved from taking my camera along with me on early morning walks around Valletta, coastal swims and more. A time to reflect, unwind and connect with aspects of what surrounds us. 

The project focused on three main subjects that I am often drawn to and feel makes this part of the world so special. The sea, the people and the traditional architecture.
