I recently spent 4 weeks at Terra Alta, a wild piece of land near Europe’s westernmost cliffs. A space where community building is guided by nature and the energy of this powerful site. Inspired by the principles of permaculture, the core vision is to work with nature, regenerating the soil, producing healthy food, and building ecologically while actively contributing to an international web of eco-cultural transformation.

For me, this was a time to strip back to the roots. A process of unlearning old ways whilst inviting in new perspectives, new experiences. All the while being surrounded by a group of 35 people from all walks of life, age, race. Differences where quickly put aside as bonds were built over fires, music, cooking, gardening and more. Lifelong friendships were built. We laughed, we cried…and laughed some more. Universal languages of expression and connection that ultimately unite us all. And in a time of increased polarity and hostility, that is just beautiful to observe and be a part of.

Camera in hand, I documented the people, land designs and daily processes that go on on the land.

Eternally grateful to Pedro, Jenny, all volunteers and the amazing students that I crossed paths with during my time there.
